Just found this when idly leafing through Heinlein´s The Moon is a Harsh Mistress:

There is no worse tyranny than to force a man to pay for what he does not want merely because you think it would be good for him.

Anything more to say about the subject of ever-increasing taxation and do-goodism?

I have always regarded RA Heinlein as a favorite source of useful and inspirational quotations.
My favorite Heinlein books include:
Starship Troopers, Double Star, Have Space Suit Will Travel, The Puppet Masters, Farnham´s Freehold and The Door into Summer. A bit old-stylish now, but in my view must-reads.
