(No) Ads on Hillside Meditations

I read something on blog advertising today: mainly there seem to be BlogAds, Google Adsense and the Amazon associates program.Yahoo is considering an advertising service of their own.
All of these seem to be somewhat context-related and therefore not quite without interest to the readers of a blog.
Blogcentra quotes a survey in which 71% of bloggers found ads on blogs ok.
I have made up my mind, though, NOT to do any advertising on my blog. I do not mind ads on other blogs, either, but advertising is simply not what I would like to have here on Hillside Meditations. My blog is for fun - mine and hopefully that of my readers; mixing that with the intention to make money (even if only very small sums) would not feel good to me.
So I have to make one thing clear: I have been inserting links to Amazon when blogging about books. I did this NOT to advertise for Amazon (and I am not enlisted in the associates program, as a matter of fact I heard about it today for the first time), I did it, because I find books well described on Amazon“ s site and like most of the reviews there - and buy most of my books there. Maybe I am goint to continue using these Amazon-links, I have not yet decdied on that point, but certainly without an economic interest of my own (not that economic interests are bad, they are not, but I don“ t want to have any on my blog - now).
