About The Mountain Star* - Read this first

The Mountain Star (its name derived from the congenial “Shinbone Star” of movie fame) is “what the world really needs - a forum for me to cry out all my archconservative needs and sentiments and frustrations and ideas and hopes and demand - me striking back and taking a last stand :-). Something like that. Of late I have made a habit of writing “Letters to the Editor”, mainly to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung to which I am subscribed, and some were published, but some of my best (in my view) were not. So To Hell with Editors - I am paying for this place in cyberworld :-)

Who is Marchal: A fortyish, politically opinionated and passionate, very-right-of-the-middle, libertarian-conservative (sic!) Bavarian with a steady view to the West (as in Lord of the Rings) and a great dislike for any kind of “old Europe”, a former Reaganaut and Thatcherite who, at the end of their eras, has almost abandoned all political hopes and dreams, “being on the move to a kind of inner exile alternating with ever more bizarre sociological phantasies out of the deepest dungeons of political reactionism” (self-description) is going to produce regular entries on “the world as he sees it”.

Intended Audience: A blog without audience is really not too much. So I do hope for regular visitors and readers - who share my views or don`t . In fact everybody is welcome at this place of mine, I will be honored by any presence or visit here. Just please do keep in mind that although I am most certainly going to be rambling and argueing and polarizing in here, I am still trying to both feel well and warm in this blog of mine and want to make everbody feel fine and welcome here. So I reserve for me, as the maintainer of this place, the right even to “censor”, to edit or shorten or remove contributions that I consider annoying to me or others (while being determined to make the most scarce use of this priviledge). This will not stifle your opinion, btw - just start your own blog and hopefully link to my most ghastly articles.

Blogging should be fun - even if the topics are serious. I hope you will enjoy your visit here.
